This was an interesting article I found about women being overlooked when it comes to health care. The main point the article was trying to make was that women are in more need of health care during their reproductive years but now it seems as though health care is hard to obtain and afford. Their seems to be an issue with some insurance company's and looking at the employment rate; full time vs part time, some employers tend to not provide health insurance because of the size of the population so women are being singled out once again.
The down size to all of this is that women who do have access to insurance gets charged more than men do and i think that is just absurd. The alarming thing that I found was that women manke about 80 percent of what men make but yet and still are suppose to pay the same amount for premiums that men pay. To me women need health care more that men because they tend to have more problems through out life such as having children, pap smears and mammograms which are needed on the regular. Many company's don't even look at if there is pre-existing conditions which would probably make it even harder for some people to get insurance, but not even that it would raise the cost up just to get that insurance.
This goes hand in hand with what we were learning in class about health because women do tend to make less than men and it seems as though women get the bad end of the stick when it comes to trying to maintain good health with the way the econmy was recently. It would just make more sense to have preimus less for women because of the way they are paid.
